If you find yourself asking questions like “Why do all my relationships seem to end badly?” or “Will I ever be happy in a relationship?” or you feel you’re repeating the same dating and relationship mistakes over and over again, you’re certainly not alone.
Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of men, both married and single, struggle with these questions for years without ever finding the answers that lead them to happy and fulfilling relationships.
When you find yourself staying in a relationship because you’re afraid to let go, looking for a fast exit whenever difficulties rear their head, or are just tired of playing dating and relationship games, it may be time to reach out for professional assistance.
And whether you’re single, married, or in a relationship, relationship counseling for men can be the ideal place to discover and implement the solutions you need to overcome the relationship challenges you’ve been facing.
Now, I know how hard it can be to admit you could use some help.
We’re all accustomed to trying to solve our problems on our own, but we all feel stuck and need help from time to time. And we all face times when the issues we’re facing boil down to whether or not we keep repeating the same mistakes with the same results or we decide to take action and seek the help necessary to create the life we truly desire.
Unfortunately, revealing our problems to a stranger can be uncomfortable and intimidating, even if that stranger is a professional therapist who specializes in helping men resolve relationship challenges.
To make matters worse, a lot of men share some common misperceptions about relationship counseling, such as:
- Counseling and therapy are too “touchy-feely;”
- Relationship counseling involves talking things over until you’re blue in the face; or
- Professional counseling and therapy can go on forever.
If you have any of these beliefs, it’s time to throw them out the window!
As a licensed counselor who’s been helping men achieve relationship success for the better part of the last decade, I know how most men like to work and I provide my relationship counseling services using a solution-focused approach with the goal of helping you understand and solve the issues you’re facing as quickly as possible.
I’ve helped countless men just like you through almost every relationship issue you can imagine… and with great success.
My goal is to help you access the skills and professional expertise you need to create the relationship you desire, all in a convenient, non-threatening, and expedient manner.
How Can Relationship Counseling Help You?
Most of us know that healthy, loving relationships not only greatly increase our physical health and well-being, but also our sense of contentment and joy.
Unfortunately, relationships are often complex and, at times, quite difficult.
Anxiety, stress, fear, anger, shyness, low self-esteem, and distrust can all lead to communication, dating, and relationship problems that, even with the best of intentions, can be difficult to overcome on your own.
If you’ve considered seeking the help of a professional counselor or therapist but wondered if counseling is really effective, it may help you to know that the relationship counseling services I provide have helped numerous men like you overcome the frustration and pain caused by:
- Constantly bickering with your partner about issues that never seem to get resolved;
- A dissatisfying sex life;
- Feeling shy, insecure, jealous, or clingy;
- Previous breakups and unsuccessful attempts at love;
- A lack of trust or intimacy in your current or previous relationships;
- Being cheated on; and
- Being afraid of being hurt or rejected.
Solution-focused relationship counseling can help you break free of any ingrained destructive patterns that have kept you from creating the loving relationship you desire by helping you:
- Understand and respect yourself, so you can improve your self-confidence and self-esteem and be authentic in your relationships;
- Create and implement a plan to find and attract the best woman for you;
- Develop communication skills that allow you to be open, honest, respectful, and truly heard;
- Resolve conflicts in a way that brings your partner and you closer together;
- Create and nurture trust and intimacy in your relationship;
- Experience playfulness and joy in your sex life; and
- Learn to establish a shared meaning, vision, and purpose for your relationship and your life together.
If any of these sound like they’d be helpful, then you’re ready to reap the benefits of relationship counseling designed specifically for men.
And remember, the men’s counseling services I provide are not about you simply talking about your problems…
I take a collaborative approach and am ready to partner with you to use your strengths to discover and develop the skills, resources, and answers you’re looking for to solve the problems you’re facing, today!
How Does Men’s Relationship Counseling Work?
While many men feel the need to stay strong and fearless no matter what challenges life presents, this doesn’t mean they don’t face challenges.
Seeking relationship counseling is simply the logical and responsible thing to do if you’re experiencing challenges in your relationships that you just can’t seem to resolve on your own.
Think of attending relationship counseling like taking your car to a mechanic. You may fix many minor car problems on your own, but some car issues require specific expertise. We go to a mechanic because he has more knowledge and experience about fixing cars than we do. He has access to diagnostic tools we don’t, and he knows how to fix car problems we can’t. The men’s relationship counseling services I offer are similar, except they’re tailored to helping men fix the problems they’re experiencing in their relationships.
You can even view men’s relationship counseling as similar to chatting with a buddy over a drink. That’s how I approach relationship counseling for men… except there’s no drink!
While our relationship will always remain strictly professional, I know the right questions to ask, I have access to the skills and tools you need, and together we can focus on how best to solve your problems head-on and get them solved in the fastest time possible, all in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
Depending on what you need, counseling may require only a few meetings, online counseling may be all you need, or it may take us a couple of months and working in person to implement the changes you desire. In any case, we’ll have a concrete action plan in place by the end of our first appointment together. And appointments can be scheduled online or in-person for either 45-minute or 90-minute blocks at times that are convenient for you.
Is Relationship Counseling Right for You?
Starting and building a great relationship requires time, energy, and commitment. No matter what kind of relationship you want to have, some hard work and difficulties will be involved. So the question comes down to…
“Do you want the emotional difficulties of constantly struggling to meet the right woman or the strain caused by an unhealthy relationship, or would you rather have the difficulties that come with learning the skills necessary to make sure you find the best woman for you and build the best relationship possible together?”
Feelings of being stuck or trapped come about when we don’t know what to do, and they usually have little or nothing to do with actually being stuck or trapped…
When you learn positive, effective, and actionable steps you can start taking today to improve your chances for a successful relationship, you’ll no longer feel stuck or unlucky in love.
Only you can decide whether or not the men’s relationship counseling services I offer are right for you. But if you’re feeling stuck, it’s a signal that you’re in need of an effective solution.
No matter what type of dating, relationship, or marriage problem you’re facing, my role as a professional counselor is to help you connect with the internal resources and guidance you have available, let go of behavior patterns that no longer serve your needs, create effective strategies to move your relationship and life forward in the right direction, and work with you to achieve the results you want.
My approach is always solution-focused, goal-oriented, and includes actionable steps so that my training and experience can be put to work to help you quickly uncover the real issues that are holding you back and provide you the straightforward advice and proven solutions to make sure you achieve the relationship success you desire.
Please note, in addition to in-person counseling for men in Turlock, California, I also provide online counseling, virtual counseling and e-counseling to clients throughout the state of California.
